Our story;
The project started as a "hey wouldn't it be cool if we could..." between 2 friends in 9th grade at school. So during school we both learned the 2 very different sides of game development, Paul started teaching himself C++ and I downloaded milkshape 3D and hammer then tried to figure out how 3d models and maps where made. throughout teaching ourselves the tricks of the trade we both refined and designed the vague concept of "kingdoms collide' into what it is now. we made the game for the first time on the half-life 1 engine, at that time the game was based on classes much like pvk or aoc is. the game also involved wall jumping and other ninja movements and the whole concept overall was very confused but still shared out main foundational goals (see about) in heart.
we then scrapped that build and moved up to the source engine. the version we are releasing on this web site will be the fourth kingdoms collide we have made. development of this build started about half way through year 12 exams (just before the start of 09)
